Terms of Service
These are the rules for using Mathlo. We kept them short and plain. By using the app you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Mathlo is made and run by Navneet Anand, an individual developer in Mumbai, India, publishing as Qlosk ("we", "us"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data and is part of these terms.
2. Who can use Mathlo
- Guest mode is open to everyone and needs no account.
- Accounts (signing in with Google to save your progress) are for people aged 18 or older, and so will weekly leagues when we launch them. If you are younger, keep playing as a guest.
- You must be able to form a binding agreement where you live. If a parent or guardian helps a younger player, they agree to these terms for them.
3. Using the app
- You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Mathlo on your own devices for your own use.
- Don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer or tamper with the app, except where the law says you may.
- Don't use Mathlo to break the law or to harm others.
- We may update, change or pause features. We try to give notice for big changes.
4. Fair play
Leagues and leaderboards only work when they are fair. When they are available, you agree not to:
- cheat, use bots, scripts, solvers or any tool that plays for you;
- exploit bugs to gain XP or rank;
- run more than one account to climb a league;
- interfere with the app, its servers or other players.
If we see unfair play, we may remove scores, reset XP, or suspend or close the account.
5. Display names
If you set a display name that other players can see, it must not:
- be hateful, abusive, sexual or threatening;
- pretend to be another person or Mathlo;
- include phone numbers, emails, addresses or other private details;
- break any law.
We may change or remove a name that breaks these rules.
6. Who owns what
The Mathlo name, logo, mascot, artwork, sounds, puzzles and the app's code belong to us or our licensors. These terms don't give you any ownership of them. You may share screenshots and your daily result card for personal, non-commercial use. Your own progress and scores are yours.
7. Brain training is for fun
Mathlo is a game to practise mental maths and logic. We don't promise any result, such as better marks, exam scores, job offers or a particular speed. It is not medical, educational or professional advice.
8. Ending things
- You can stop using Mathlo any time. You can delete your data as described on the Delete your data page.
- We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or the law.
- Sections about ownership, disclaimers, liability and governing law survive after these terms end.
9. Disclaimer
Mathlo is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best, but we don't promise it will always work, be error-free, or keep your on-device progress safe. For example, if you uninstall the app or lose your phone without signing in, guest progress can't be recovered. Where the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind.
10. Limit of liability
Where the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost progress, data or profits from using Mathlo. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the last 12 months. The app is free, so that amount may be zero. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and us only. Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not parties to them. They are not responsible for the app, its content, support, or any claim about it. Apple and Google's own store terms also apply to how you get the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms as they apply to the iOS app.
12. Governing law and courts
These terms follow the laws of India. Courts in Mumbai, India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The newest version is always on this page with its date. If a change is big, we will tell you in the app. If you keep using Mathlo after a change, you accept it.
